Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 917.270532 & 917.256511, craftsman 917, deck height

Question
The mower deck cuts too low, won't raise up.  6 is barely high enough to cut.  Haven't changed any adjustments.  What is my problem. I have this problem on both mowers.  Thanks for any help

Does this Mower Have the Deck Height Adjuster Knob for Setting the Deck Height? If Yes then Adjust the Knob to Raise the Deck Height (Clockwise if I remember Correctly). If the Deck Height Knob Gets Out of Adjustment this will Happen. Go to this Site Addy, http://www3.sears.com/ and Enter the Model Numbers in the Upper Left Search Box and Click Go. Then Visually Verify the Equipment and Click Continue. From this Page you can View Diagrams or Parts Lists for you Equipment. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
