Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): vibrating when blade not engaged, blade vibration, woodruff key

Question
Hi John,
I have a Toro model 20624 when the blade is not engaged lawn mower vibrates higher the idol the worse. I have a new blade. If I take the blade off and without the the blade not engaged there is no vibration.
When I put the blade back on and the blade not engaged lawn mower vibrates when I engage blade vibration goes away. do you think it could be hub assembly or break drum?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

Answer
Hello Shawn:

Disassemble the Blade and Brake Clutch Assembly Down to the Engine Block. Check Each Component for Signs Of Wear that Would Cause an Out Of Balance Operation. The Flywheel May be Damaged or the Brake Clutch Assemble May be Loose and Require Tightening. The Woodruff Key May be Damaged. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm and Select Start Parts Viewer. Now Enter the Model Numbers. Now Select View Assembly Drawings. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
