Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Model 917.270653, craftsman riding mower, craftsman model

Question
I have a craftsman riding mower with the model number 917.270653.  It sputters and quits running after running for a while.  The most I can get it to run without a problem has been 1 hour.  It seems to be a fuel problem.  I replaced the fuel filter and flushed out the gas tank.  Do you have any recommendations for fixing this problem?

Answer
Hello Kyle:

Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank Properly. If the Cap is Venting Good, then Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air. Install a New Kit if Required. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
