Question
When mowing blades randomly disengage, engine then dies, does     not want to start for a few seconds or up to a minute or two

WOW, not much to go on.
Will need a follow up.
Does the engine just shutoff or does it slowly "peter" out? Will turning off the deck bring the engine back to life? If you choke it will it keep cutting? Heavy grass? Sparse weeds? Does it cut good until this happens?
Give me some more details and we will figure this out.
Pull out the spark plugs and let me know what they look like. Plugs are a great diagnostic tool. Dry powdery black, wet and oily etc.
Looking forward to your follow up. This is truly one of the best lawn tractors ever built. It will last 25 years and truly proves that when you buy a Deere you don't buy "green paint" you buy quality. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
Shoot,  this tractor is so good that's what I told my mother-in-law to buy. You sure don't want to lead the mom-in-law the wrong direction.
