Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): baffeled, engine crankcase, crankcase breather

Question
I have a Troy Built 22 hp motor riding lawnmower, i think.  I tried to start it up with other day when i did it crank and immeditly started smoking as soon as i would push the throttle up it would smoke more and cut off i did this a few times thinking it was just because it had sat for acouple months.  After about three times and now the engin wont do anything i opened the engin casing and there is oil splatered all over the bottom leaking on the exaust but i can't tell where the oil is coming from.  Please help

Answer
Hello Anthony:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. Is the Crankcase Overfilled and have a Gas Smell to it. If Yes, then Change the Oil, Remove the Spark Plug and Turn the Engine to Clear the Cylinder, Reinstall the Spark Plug and Install a Manual Cut Off Valve in the Gas Line. The Needle and Seat in the Carburetor Allowed the Engine Crankcase to Fill with Gas. If the Needle and Seat Problem are Not Affecting the Operation of the Engine, then the Cut Off Valve will Eliminate the Problem of Gas in the Oil. The Oil on the Engine is Most Likely from the Upper Crankshaft Seal or the Crankcase Breather/Vent. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

Good Luck
