Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda 5.5 hp, blown head gasket, crankcase breather

Question
My dads 5.5 horse power honda engine started leaking/sraying a little bit of oil out the exhaust pipe/muffler. do know what is wrong with it. I think the model is GX160. It starts up just fine and runs good, it just is spraying oil.

Answer
 Hello Brandon:

Is the Crankcase Overfilled with Oil? Does the Oil have a Gas Smell to it? A Blown Head Gasket will cause this on the OHV Engines. Check the Crankcase Breather/Vent. If the Crankcase Vent is Clogged, the Crankcase Will Not Vent and the Pressure Pushes the Oil Out the Exhaust Port and then the Muffler. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Addy http://www.honda-engines-eu.com/en/service/spareparts/heepartscatalogue/index.js... and Enter the Model Numbers and the Type Letters. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
