Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 18.5HP Intek, oil/gas coming from fuel pump, briggs and stratton, breather vent

Question
John,
My briggs is having a problem with an oil/gas mixture coming from the fuel pump and the engine smoking excessively.  It doesn't do this immediately, but after the engine has been running for about 5 minutes or as soon as I start mowing.  I replaced the fuel pump so I am pretty sure that is not the problem. The crankcase is not overfull nor does the oil look as if it has gas mixed with it. Do you have any idea what's going on?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Answer
 Hello Randy:

Check the Crankcase Breather/Vent and Ensure it is Venting the Crankcase Properly. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these Numbers I can Locate the Proper Manusl and Better Assist you. Thanks.

 Hello Randy:

Yes it Does. Go to this Addy http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the B.  Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File Numbers 31. Then Select the Folder Number 310700. The Breather/Vent is Shown on Page 2 of 14 Breakdown Number 8. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck
