Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): riding mower shuts off, hp briggs, riding mower
QuestionI have a riding mower that has a 18 hp briggs stratten moter, I changed the coil and started, the mower has trouble starting when it does it runs until it gets hot then it shuts off, please tell me whaT else could be wrong!

Send me the Model Type and Code Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. However, it May be the Valves Require Adjustment. If the Engine has Fire after it has Gotten Hot and Quit, then Check the Gas Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank. Change the Fuel Filter. The Valves are the Next Item to Check. The Intake Valve is Set to .006in and the Exhaust is Set to .008in -.010in. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.
