Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler K141t wont run wide open, kohler engine, carb settings

Question
Jeff,
I just bought an air compressor, that is powered by a Kohler engine. It will only run right at idle, or about quarter throttle. If it gets any more throttle it will start missing and flood out. How is the governer adjusted on these, as the throttle bracket was loose on it? I can't seem to find any info on this engine, and Kohler is no help. The plate on the shroud says it's a mod# K141T, spec# 29357d, ser#9284233. It is recoil start with points and magneto. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Tom

Answer
adjusting the governor >>>  loosing up  linkage clamp from governor shaft to carb>  turn it counterclockwise til it stops.   while loose, open carb. linkage to high speed fully open the butterfly, and holding it open, and governor counterclockwise tighten up clamp.
place with your carb settings (air&fuel needles and try that.
