Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Troy bilt tiller, air impact wrench, troy bilt tiller

Question
We have a tiller with Kohler 7hp model K161 engine with a pull start only, it is difficult to start, even with the use of quickstart fluid. is it possible to attach a air impact wrench to the nut on end of flywheel and turn over the engine that way or maybe use a starter motor with battery mounted on a cart attached to end of flywheel nut with socket this would be removed after unit starts

Answer
 Hello Ron:

I Suggest you Look Into Replacing the Flywheel with the Electric Start Flywheel and Install the Regular Starter on the Engine. Using an Impact will Only Damage the Engine. If you have an Air Starter Wrench, this will Work. An Air Starter Wrench Doesn't Slap like a Regular Impact Wrench and is Designed to Start Engines. These are Expensive. They Used to Sell a Pulley that could be Mounted to the Flywheel and a Starter/Generator was Used to Start the Engine. I Haven't seen any in a Good While though. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.

 Good Luck
