Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mountfield Petrol Self Propelled, briggs stratton, petrol mower

Question
Hi
My Mountfield Petrol Mower with Briggs & Stratton 4.5 engine won't start. I think i have narrowed it down to the Primer Button as when i press it no petrol seems to be drawn into the carb depsite the tank being full. I have tried to put fuel directly into the carb and this gets it started but soon cuts out and won't start again. Someone has suggested that the Diaphram may be broke? There are no holes in the Primer Button itself. Is this going to be something i can fix myself? Any ideas please?
Regards
Darryl.

Answer
 Hello Darryl:

The Carburator needs to be Cleaned and Rebuilt. Send me the Model, Type and Code Numbers Off the Engine and I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Carburator for you to View Online. With the Breakdown/IPL you can Decide Weither you can Make this Repair or Not. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Thanks.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
