Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere L110 wont start, get only click sound, john deere l110, old john deere

I have a two year old John Deere L110 riding mower with a Kohler engine.  It has been running fine. Recently, after 20 minutes of use, I stopped to add fuel.  Now when the key is turned, I only get a single click noise.  The manual troubleshooting guide says the problem could be: brake pedal is not depressed; PTO is engaged; battery terminals are corroded; battery not charged; blown fuse; or fusible link in starting circuit is blown---see your autorized dealer.

I have thoroughly checked all of these possibilities except the last one.  Do I really have to see a dealer/shop to check on the fusible link? Could it also be the starting motor or are there other possibilities?

 The Items you have Listed are the Most Common Causes for your Problem. Take a Jumper Cable Set and Attach the Positive Lead to the Positive Post of the Battery. Take the Other End and FIRMLY Touch the Large Post of the Soleniod on the Starter Side. If the Starter Turns the Engine, then Check the Voltage from the Ignition Switch to the Soleniod. If the Voltage is Going From the Switch to the Soleniod When the Ignition Switch is in the Start Position, then Replace the Soleniod. If No Current from the Ignition Switch to the Small Post on the Soleniod, then The Ignition Switch is Bad. Then Select the Sectional Index. You should be Able to Locate the Fuse Link or Fuse Using the Electrical Diagram. The Link and/or Fuse is Shown in One of the Electrical Diagrams. If the Starter Doesnt Turn, then Turn the Engine by Hand. If it Moves by Hand, then have the Starter Checked for Binding Under a Load. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance.
