Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): starter pull rope pulled out,, rope and pulley, plastic pulley

Question
How can i rewind the pull rope. the craftsman is standard push mower, eager 1, 4hp, mod num. 917 386121.
I have the tope rope housing off and the rope is threaded thru handle and rope housing.
Need to knot the rope, then how is the rope rewound?

 Hello Abigail:

 With the Rope Completely Removed from the Pulley( you want the rope with a knot on 1 end only, no handle on the rope yet), Turn the Pulley towards the Hole in the Metal Housing until the Pulley can No Longer be Turned. Reverse the Direction of the Pulley for 2 Turns. Take the Rope and Push it through the Hole in the Plastic Pulley and then Through the Hole in the Metal Housing. Pull the Rope through Until the Knot is Tight Against the Pulley. Tie a Slip Knot in the Rope to Hold the Rope and Pulley while the Handle is Attached to the Rope. Once the Handle is Attached, Remove the Slip Knot and the Rope should Retract into the Housing. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
