Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): troy built mower wont run, float bowl, sparkplug

Question
I have a troy built self propelled mower with a b/s 6.75 mower.  This mower is less than two years old.  I can start the mower without much effort, but it will not continue to idle.  I have drained the fuel tank and refilled with new gas, cleaned the gas cap and made sure the vent was clear, cleaned the sparkplug, cleaned the bowl under the carb and made sure the fuel line was not plugged.  It seemed to run better for about 15 minutes after doing these things, but then it just died again.  It will run pretty well if I keep the red button pushed in.  Any other suggestions?

Answer
This is a classic dirty carburetor problem.  You can try draining the carb bowl by removing the float bowl nut again.  Make sure the holes in the float bowl nut are clean.

If it continues to stall after you drain the carb bowl you will have to remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb with compressed air from an air compressor.
I would also recommend replacing the spark plug but since the mower runs with the primer button pushed in then the carb is most likely the problem.

Let me know if this helps.
