Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): another question, gas tank, riding mower

Question
hi its john again thanks for all your help everything you said worked i got it to start right up . but as you probaly know when you fix one thing somthing else has to go wrong. when i put gas in the gas tank it leaks into the air filter i cant figure it out maybe you can save me again. thanks

Answer
 Hello John:

The Carburator Float Needle Is Not Seating Properly or the Float is Set too High. The Gas Cap May Not be Venting the Tank and Pressure is Building in the Tank and Forcing the Gas to Leak by the Needle and Seat. If this is a Riding Mower, I Suggest Putting a Cut Off Valve in the Gas Line between the Tank and Carburator. From the way you Described the Problem, I would Check the Float and the Needle and seat. The Float should be Level with the Bowl Seat when the Carburator is Turned with the Float Up. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
