Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere L120, john deere l120, switch jumper

Question
John, first of all let me say I have worked on older mowers and cars all my life. The problem is I have a John Deere L120 riding mower. I used it today and when I got thru I washed it with regular water. I then cranked it up and pulled it under my garage to let totally dry before putting it in my big garage. When I go to crank it up this afternoon it will not do anything. The lights are bright, and I have unplugged the safety plug under the seat and blown it out with my air hose. I do not know where any other safety switches are located. The mower only has 60 hours on it. I am sure I must have got something wet. Any input would be very much appreciated. I do not think it is a starter problem, I think it is something with the safety switches. If you can tell me where the other are located I will try to by pass them if you tell me how. I look forward to your reply. Respectfully,
Dennis Branch

Answer
 Hello Dennis:

It Sounds like the Clutch Safety Switch is the Problem. Follow the Linkage for the Clutch and Locate the Switch. Jumper it and try to Start the Engine. My Diagrams Show the Switch but Gives no Indication of its Location an you Model Mower. If you Require looking at a Breakdown of your Mower, you can go to this Link http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
