Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mtd lawn mower stalling, seat safety, safety switch

Question
I have a MTD Lawnflite riding lawnmower. The mower runs great and will drive in all gears.  But when I lower the deck to engage the blades the engine stalls.  Any ideas what might be causing this?

 Hello Jessie:

 By Stalling; Do you mean Shutting Off like you Turned Off the Ignition Switch or Like it is Starving for Fuel? If it Sounds like the Switch is being Turned Off then Check the Seat Safety Switch. If this Switch is Bad it Wont let you Engage the Blabes. If the Engine Acts like it is Starved for Fuel, Then Clean and Overhaul the Carb. Hope this Helps. Let me know what Happens, Please.
