Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda GC160 OHC wont start, honda gc160, head gasket

Question
I have a honda 5.5 ohc engine on a go kart that wont start. I turned the kart on it's side to install some new tires. It got oil in the carb and everywhere else. it was running great before. I was able to get it started a few times but now it wont start at all. It was backfiring and the air cleaner started on fire. I checked for spark and it was getting a spark at the wire not sure if at the electrode. I also tried shooting a little starting fluid into the plug, but still did not have any luck. Do you think it blew the head gasket?

Answer
 Hello Rod:

OK. First, lets Clean the Carb. and Remove the Crankcase Vent and Wash it Free of All the Oil the Got Inside It. Follow the Rubber Tube from the Carb to the Vent. Im not going to Say that the Backfire Didnt Blow the Head Gasket, but, If you cant get it Started after Cleaning the Carb and the Crankcase Vent then Replace the Head Gasket. Hope this Helps. Let me know what you find, Please.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
