Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tecumseh two stroke, murray snowblower, starter rope

Question
I have a Murray snowblower with a tecumseh 98cc 2 stroke.  The first time I used it this year, it worked great for about 10 minutes, and then just started to lose power and died.  When I tried to restart it, it felt like the motor had seized.  After a couple of days, I tried to start it and after pulling kind of hard on the starter rope it "broke loose".  I cleaned the carb, and it's getting fuel.  It has real good spark and the flywheel key looks good.  I removed the head and the piston and cylinder wall looks good (no damage).  I removed the bottom cover plate and there was no metal or anything.  I haven't used a compression tester, but it feels like it has pretty good compression when I remove the spark plug and pull on the starter rope.  I'm at a loss as to what to do next, and hope you can tell me what I'm missing.

Answer
Hi Darrin,

I would make sure, fuel was not used without premixed oil, which would cause seizing.
If the spark plug is getting fuel, has spark and good compression, the engine should run.  Other than that, I don't know what to say.

Let me know how you make out,
Michael
