Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 4.5hp mower runs choppy., craftsman, jets
QuestionI have a Craftsman 4.5hp push mower. It will start right up, but it runs very choppy. Almost sounds like the engine is reving. The mower came with my new house and I'm sure the mower hasn't been used in a few years. Suggestions to make it run smoothly?
Thanks.
AnswerHi James,
Try adjusting the carb's jets. If that doesn't do it, then there may be dirt, debris or gummed fuel in the carb. In that case you would need to disassemble and clean every small hole in the carb.
Let me know how you make out.
