Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Snowblower Carb, craftsman snowblower, gas inflow

Question
The carbuetor on my older 8hp Craftsman snowblower is flooding.  I believe a piece is missing off the float.  When the float rises up it doesn't block the gas inflow as it should is there a rubber stopper missing?  I purchased a carb kit to repair it but am unsure how to install it.  Thanks

Answer
There should be a rubber, viton seat inside the inlet needle sleeve.

The inlet needle seat is installed with the GROOVE side DOWN.
The rest of the kit should be fairly straight forward.  The round metal cup looking item, if you have one in the kit, is a welch plug.  If you don't remove the old welch plug then you do not need to install the new one.
Does this help? Do you have any other questions.
Let me know.
