Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deer 210 Riding Mower, belts and pulleys, john deer

Question
The upper belt is off that controls the movement of the Rider. I am not handy at repair of this sort.I believe the mower  be belt driven. The belt could be broken or worn and possibly the pulleys are worn and need replacement. I do not know where to go to get the repair done. I am assuming this is what needs to be done as The tractor runs fine but will not move. We have replaced the lower belts and pulleys before. Thanks for your help & suggestions.

Answer
Hi Al,

If the belt was old, it most likely was just worn and the pulleys are fine.  Get a replacement belt from a dealer or repair shop.  You might have to remove other belts to have access to the pulleys and replace the drive belt but the job should be fairly straight forward.

Let me know how you make out.
