Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 48 john deere commercial mower, ohv engine, spark plug
Questionthe mower has about 1000 hours on it and has ran great up until today. when i crank it up it runs great but after about 5 minutes when it warms up it starts trying to go dead almost like its flooding out or not getting enough gas.but i thought maybe it could be electrical since it starts doing this after it warms up.it is a john deere 48" walk behind with a 14 hp kawasaki ohv engine.1997
AnswerHi Charles,
Right after it quits, check for good spark at the spark plug's electrodes. If it's good and the plugs are not wet and flooded, try to start while squirting fuel or starting fluid into the carb intake.
Let me know what you find.
