Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mowing stumps, thirsty animals, cotton mouth

Question
Cletus, I have a stump in my front yard that I really hate. How should I get rid of it? Can I use the mower to chop it up?
thanks!
Diane

Answer
Oh yeah and don't worry about the blade at all.  Run it up on the stump and let that mower just chew it up.  It may be a little while, but it will eventually run right through that stump.  If the blade ever gets stuck make sure you don't use your fingers or hands to unstick the blade without shutting the mower off first.  I am missing a few digits on my hand because of that very thing!  Enough about that nonsense though.  VERY IMPORTANT - make sure you have plenty of gas handy for your mower.  Lawn mowers are thirsty animals and don't like to get cotton mouth if you know what I mean Diane.
