Snowmobile Repair: snowmobile repair, regulator problem, gumout

Question
I have a 1999 arctic cat zl500 efi. My problem is the snowmobile hesitates or sputters when I first take off and at low rpm but runs fine when I get on the gas. This summer I took my exhaust off and painted it and put new gaskets on the manifold I was wondering if the gaskets are leaking thus causing the problem. One friend told me it could be the ground wire on the exhaust another told me it could be my voltage regulator. Like I said it runs great when I'm on the throttle. I don't think it's the ground wire because I checked it. thanks.

Answer
Hello David,

It could be the gaskets, it would be a good idea to make sure every thing is tight. I would install new plugs, and spray fuel injector cleaner (like Gumout) into the fuel injectors. It doesn't sound like a ground or regulator problem to me. Replacing your coil may help. Hope this helps. Good luck on the sled! --Arcticatman
