Snowmobile Repair: changing track, belly pan, drain fluid


Question
I have a 2000 700 xc deluxe polaris and cant get the outer cover off the chain case because of lack of room between the case and the belly pan is there a trick to getting it out. This machine has reverse

first i need to know where your from and if there is any snow where i'm from we have no @#$%&*@ snow. so this is how i deal with it. helping others that are enjoying the snow.

anywho yes there is a secret, i have made a couple of special tools of my own to get these tight covers off.
first lift front of SLED then remove the right side rear trailing arm bolt. find flat thin piece of metal put against belly pan and pry it out carefull not to indent the belly pan. using the flat piece of metal will move more of the belly pan without indenting it.drain fluid and pull cover off making sure that the fork is off the sprocket.it will hit the top of the caliper but give it a pull and it will come right out.hope this helped let me know
