Subaru Repair: 2000 Subaru Legacy Wagon AT Oil Temp Light Flashing after Oil and Filter Change, Subaru Repair, Subaru Service

I drive a 2000 Subaru Legacy Wagon. My transmission was slipping and stuttering for a while so I decided to change my transmission oil, and my front differential oil and rear differential oil while I had the car lifted. Prior to changing the filter and oil, the car slipped and at times would start but not move forward when in gear from anywhere from 5 minutes to a half hour. So I decided to change the oil and filters as I bought the car in 2010 and haven't changed the transmission oil since.

I drained out the transmission oil and replaced both the spin on filter and the transmission. I refilled the oil with 4.5 Quarts of oil and now the AT Oil Transmission Temp light flashes. Additionally I am still having the same problems I had before in terms of the car not going when I put it in gear. Obviously I did something wrong. Do you have any idea what I can do to correct this problem? I've been working on cars since I was 9 with my dad and have never ran into this problem before. I've changed transmission filters and oil plenty of times before. Any help would be appreciated!! It is EXTREMLY difficult to find any advice or information on a 2000 subaru legacy wagon online.

The AT Temp light flashing indicates there is a code set in the Transmission Control Module, scanning for the code than diagnosing the reason where is where you need to start.

The last thing you should ever do to a transmission that is slipping is to change the fluid.
