Subaru Repair: P0122 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input, throttle position sensor, sensor switch

Question
My check engine light kept briefly coming on intermittently for almost a year, now it just stays on. The code is P0122 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Low Input. What does this mean and is it simple to correct? Thanks.

Answer
John,

It means the ECM Engine Control Module is trying to tell you there is something wrong in the Throttle position sensor circuit that needs to be diagnosed and repaired, it could and most likely is a failed throttle position sensor.  But it should be diagnosed.
