Towing Issues: Wrongfully Towed by the City, fire hydrants, small claims court

Question
This past Thursday, the city of Milwaukee posted temporary no parking signs on the west side of the street for snow removal.  I parked on the east side of the street where there were no signs.  I came to find that I was wrongfully towed as I did not violate any posted signs.  I picked up my car on Monday and the lot did not charge me anything.  However, Monday was Valentines day, and instead of going out to dinner with my wife, I spent it at a tow lot waiting for my car.  Can I go after the city or get some compensation for getting my car wrongfully towed?  Is is even worth it?  I also still have a $60 ticket from the city that I need to contest - hopefully I can handle it over the phone.  Thanks for your help.

Answer
well snow emergency towing is something that I have not run into (guess I did not live in the right areas) but I understand the concepts of it.
Even if you did park on the "OK" side, you would still have to meet requirements for that area, such as loading zone, fire hydrants and such. That might have been one reason for the tow even though they said it was a mistake.

Now its good that the tow yard did not charge you. But as to the ticket, when it goes to court or you write a letter with it, you should get it dismissed. Your phone call might solve the issue.

As to recovering the "TIME SPENT" I really doubt that you will have much luck with that. But you never know what would happen if you went to small claims court.
