Towing Issues: towed car, rental lease agreements, unlicensed vehicle

My apt complex towed my car. I currently live and pay rent for my apt and it does include a parking spot. I dont drive my car often however it is a working car. the tabs had expired less than 30 days and the apt worker had them tow my car. is this legal? Lynnwood, Washington. 98037

many apartment - condo complexes have provisions in the rental - lease agreements which require that vehicles be registered and have current tags.

It is a very common question here, and I hate to say it but it is most likely going to be legal in that aspect of being in the agreements.

There also might be some local ordinances which requires current registrations. After all many state and local government agencies are looking for revenue and an unlicensed vehicle means no tax income to them.
