Towing Issues: car dolly towing, car dolly, scrap vehicle

I have been given 2 or 3 "stories" on the laws of towing a junk vehicle to the scrap yard VIA truck/car dolly. I would be driving legal, registered vehicle. Towing a non-registered, scrap vehicle. What are the rules RE: unregistered vehicle being towed by dolly?? Thank you Richard, From Richard

it all depends on the laws of your state regarding moving unlicensed vehicles. Some will allow for the use of a dolly where you have 2 wheels are on the ground, and some will require that you have all wheels off the ground.

I wish I could help with an answer but it is one of those issues which has lots of possibilities.
