Towing Issues: towing, visitor spaces, apartment complexes

Question
I live in Georgia and  was visiting a friend in Baltimore City at her apartment complex. I was towed within 15 minutes after arriving. There were no signs for visitor parking any where on the complex. I did find out later that there are visitor spaces but they are marked on the ground. No signs as mentioned above are posted. While I am not a lawyer I thought visitor parking spaces are like handicapped spaces. There has to be a sign posted as well as marked pavements. Do you know what the regulations are for apartment complexes in Baltimore City. And if not do you know what web site i can go to. Thank you

Answer
I really hate questions in Baltimore as I have a huge problem finding answers to them... For some reason they just do not publish rules, regulations or laws up there..

Maybe that is why their is such a problem with towing up there, no one knows the laws.

Generally though the impound sign laws do require that some form of warning be available be it painted on the ground (bad in areas with snow) or on signs posted...  But as to visitor spaces, you might see both.

Now I know what you are saying about the handicapped spaces and the signs there, but imagine an apartment complex where their is a sign posted in front of each space. It would look a bit tacky (But practical in terms of warning people).

Sometimes looks verses warning is a big key to the rules, and that is why in most regulations they require signs posted at the entrances to the complex...

Now I am not able to find specific laws for Maryland, and my links to information are bad in most cases.
I checked www.municode.com  which did not work either as they do not have any stuff for Baltimore...

I am sorry that I am not able to provide a specific answer for you. I am sure that you did a search online checking for the information such as "Baltimore towing laws" you will find what I did and its not very much.
