Towing Issues: Car towed on private property, tow companies, 1000 words

Question
I park my car at my friends house in front of his garage on a private property.  The next morning i woke up to find my car missing. When I pick up my car it said the location of the vehicle was 3 condos down from my friends house and the condo is for sale and nobody lives there.  I have people who can attest that i wasn't parked in front of this address.

I am sorry but since I do not know where you are, what city and state I can not tell you if some laws were broken or not...

And as much as I hate to say it, some tow companies are not very honest but then again there are not many honest crooks... It could of been "stolen and reparked" and then towed...

There are to many issues here to really answer anything.
This might be a bit " you say, they say"   
And in some areas the laws require that pictures are required of vehicles being towed for illegally parking.
You know a picture says a 1000 words.
