Questiona towing company towed my car as being in the wrong parking spot, i went down to the towing company location to pick up my car, what i found out after paying $165 that my car has been damaged. the front bumper has been broken off, the side skirt on the car has been bent. what can i do about this situation?
Answerwell talk to the tow company about the damages, and see if they are going to stand behind it and if they did it, repair it.
But be ready for them to say they did not do it, and that it was pre-existing damage..
Now some laws in some Cities and States require that illegally parked vehicles, before they are towed, have a picture of any damages and also as proof of the violation. But I do not know if that was the case for where you are since I do not know what state you are in...
Another idea is to contact your auto insurance company and let them know that it was towed and damaged. After all they have lots of lawyers and seem to be able to deal with issues like this. But then it does at times cause your insurance rates to go up, as they "MIGHT" consider it an accident.
But if nothing happens you can always go the small claims court route if nothing else works.
