Towing Issues: towing on rented property, anne arundel county maryland, blown engine

Question
i was renting a house and i had a van parked in my driveway in which i shared the driveway with my neighbor who also happened to be my landlord. my van was not in anyone's way cause we all were able to drive around it without driving on grass and my landlord had it towed. it was tagged legally and not a piece of junk looking (it had a blown engine and i was waiting for cars for kidz to pick it up). i was in dispute with my landlord over other issues and he took it upon himself to have it towed to upset me( other issues was they had sold my house and wanted me out before my lease was up and i wouldn't go). any, did he have the right to tow my van or not. i live in anne arundel county, maryland. thank you

Answer
This sounds as if there is a bunch of other issues which could be more legal than civil here.

But as a property owner, they do have the rights to have vehicles removed under state, county or City law...
They do have to sign a written authorization to remove the vehicle and as such also become responsible to follow the law in ordering the tow... There are penalties which also can happen if it was deemed to be an illegal tow. That is usually for a court to decide however.

I am going to suggest that you check with a lawyer and see what they suggest as it sounds like an issue they would be best to handle...

Sorry for not really providing an answer but this one is over my level of expertise...
