QuestionCan a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Sport, 4.0ltr 6cyl, manual transmission tow a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse (FWD), manual transmission using a tow bar? If so, what is the recommended equipment?
Answerwell while this question is somewhat out of my area of expertise, as it involves flat towing a vehicle, I checked the sources I use everyday for towing (commercially were we charge to tow vehicles) and the vehicle does say it can be towed on its drive wheels backwards...

HOWEVER (BIG DISCLAIMER HERE), I personally do not like towing any vehicle with the drive wheels on the ground. And using a tow bar to flat tow it does cause concern for me...
Now the Mitsubishi can also be towed with the front wheels on a tow dolly and you would not have to worry about anything then. That is what I would really suggest.
Of course I do not know the reason you are wanting to tow it in the first place behind the jeep...
Again sorry for not having all the answers but it is kind of out of my area of expertise for dealing with flat towing of vehicles.
