is it true if I do not pick up my car from a towing company they can have my license suspended?

Well, now since I do not have specific information that I can provide you on this answer without knowing what state you are in, I can tell you that several states (Washington, and Florida come to mind) do have laws regarding the drivers license suspension... Other states (I believe Massachusetts  or Connecticut come to mind here but might be wrong) can also suspend the vehicle registration.

But basically abandoning the vehicle at the tow company allows the tow company to follow specific laws to dispose of the vehicle and also recover any and all owed fees by either small claims court, use of collection agencies, or by suspension of licenses by the state.
