Towing Issues: No signs posted, speed limit signs, small claims court

Question
I parked my car a friends appartment, unknowingly that i was parking illegally because another car was blocking the sign. I understand that i can really use that as my arguement to get my money back i had pay the the towing company, however, there were no signs posted of the name or phone number of the company that will tow. Is this against the law? if it is, is it possible for me to get my money back? and how? It was towed in westminster, Colorado. Thanks so much

Answer
well  all I can say is good luck trying to get the money back... Just because you could not see the sign does not free you from the responsibility of following the rules and laws..

A prime example is speed limit signs,  they are not posted every 100 feet, but you know that it applies between them...

Now Colorado has some laws which really are vague, I understand that a towing company has to register with the state and then they can do impounds.. Even if the location is 100 miles away....  My search also shows that many of the laws are currently (or just have been) changing...

If you want to try the small claims court route then you would get your chance to prove it to a judge..
