Towing Issues: towing, toyota land cruiser, rear drive shaft

Question
I have a 1995 toyota land cruiser that i will be towing with the front wheels lifted up. I'm wondering if I will need to dis-connect the front drive shaft because it's all wheel drive.
when i disconnect the rear drive shaft is it only the part by thr axle i have to dis-connect or do i need to take it off from the transmission all togeather.
Thank you for your time.

Answer
No you will not need to disconnect the front driveshaft as the front wheels will be off the ground.

On the rear, just disconnect the universal joint at the diff.  You will need to tape up the end caps so as not to lose the needle bearings.  Then tie up the end of the driveshaft with some mechanical wire.  BE SURE TO TIE IT VERY WELL.  If the driveshaft gets loose, it will do a lot of damage to your vehicle before it careens through traffic.

Good luck,
