Towing Issues: Towing A Jeep Wrangler w/Auto transmission, jeep wrangler, tow dolly

Question
We have a motorhome & a tow dolly & want to tow my 2000 Jeep Wrangler on my tow dolly, but Jeep has an automatic transmission. Can I put the transfer case in Neutral & transmission in Neutral & leave motor running & not harm the trasnmission?

Thanks

Answer
Your particular vehicle is towable as-is.  You need only put the manual transfer case into neutral.  You do not need to put the transmission in neutral, nor do you need to leave the engine running.  In fact, I reccommend you NOT leave the engine running as this can lead to overheating problems as well as a clogged exhaust from never reaching proper operating temperature.
