Toyota Repair: blower or resistor

Question
QUESTION: I have a 93 toyota truck, 4x4, extended  cab, 5-speed manual trans.
My fan/blower motor barely blows on 1st and 2nd speed, but blows (not as hard as it used to) on 3rd and 4th speed.  Im guessing it's the blower motor or the blower resistor.  How do I test these?, or do you think it is something else?

Thanks for your help,

Rick

ANSWER: Hello, it sounds it's more of a blower motor problem, if the resistor was bad it would only work on high speed.

QUESTION: Not doubting your wisdom, Since they are both pricey items, is there a test for the motor and a  continuity test for the resistor.  It has continuity between 1-2 1-3 1-4   2-3 2-4  3-4 all terminal combos.

Thanks again

Rick

Answer
You're welcome, disconnect the blower motor electrical connector, connect a jumper wire from any 12 volt source to on of the terminals and ground the other, the blower should run at it's highest speed, if no air comes out of the vents reverse the connections, if it doesn't run at high speed replace the motor.
