Intermittent speedo function. Mostly not working. When it isn't working, eventually the Check Engine light will come on. Also, the transmission will start to function poorly. Bad shifting, won't go into O/D and usually at some point, won't shift out of 1st gear and "free-wheels"(like in neutral) when accelerator is released  If I shut off the motor for a few minutes, restart, it will be driveable again but still having the poor shifting and lack of O/D and eventually getting stuck in 1st gear after a stop. Was told it may need a speed sensor(think the one on the T/Case). Does this sound correct???? If so, could you please supply me with the correct part # for this part. Thank you for your help.

Hello, the speed sensor on the transmission is usually the cause, I'm going to give you the Denso brand part number, these are the same as Toyota uses and are available at most autoparts stores or online,  PART#: W0133-1742167 at about $160.00. Keep in mind this is the DENSO manufacturers part number not the Toyota number, however the part will be exactly the same.
