Toyota Repair: 94 corolla. Faulty latch on gas cover., frequent problem, small spring

Question
Can not open hatch to fill gas tank.Have checked both ends of cables and all seems ok.Latch may be operating ok but cover does not spring open.This is not an frequent problem, just happened suddenly.

There is a small spring at the hinge of the gas door, it may be missing or broken, contact the toyota dealer for a new gas door spring, it's clipped on to the hinge postso that the spring pushes against the door so it will open when the cable is pulled.
