Toyota Repair: shaky sequoia, 2003 toyota sequoia, toyota sequoia

Question
I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia Limited, which I bought 6 months ago. It has 105k miles. I am totally in love with this car, but it has one problem: when I brake at highway speeds, it shakes & vibrates. As it slows down, so does the shaking, until it stops at when I reach about a 35 mph speed. Please help! Thank you very much. Nina

Answer
This is a fairly common problem, the vibration is coming from the brake system, in most cases the front brake rotors are warped and either require replacement or resurfacing on a brake machine as well as brake pad replacement, in this case I would recommend having the toyota dealer check it, the brake rotors should be measured to see if they can be resurfaced, they may need to be replaced if they are at or below the minimum thickness, have the rear brakes checked as well.
