Toyota Repair: 2004 Highlander - Electrical, vanity mirror, dash area

Question
It appears that the upper left and lower right brake lights have burned out (There are 2 lights per side).  Now only one bulb in the left side works. The rear wiper has quit working along with the passenger vanity mirror light.  Do I have an electrical problem or is this coincidental.  I have not physically looked at the brake lights but the vanity mirror light, that looks like a fuse to me, does appear to be burned out.

Answer
There may be an electrical problem, the fuses should be checked first, they are located under the hood and also some of them are located inside under a cover on the lower dash area. On the inside check the fuses marked "dome, gauge, tail" replace any that are burned out, there have been problems in the past where the sun visor vanity light wires short to ground and cause fuses to blow, if the fuses keep going out the cause of the short circuit needs to be located and a good place to start is the wiring to the vanity lights.
