Toyota Repair: 1985 toyota camry, toyota camry, case change

Question
The car was parked for 2 years a new battery was put in.  The car still did not start.  A new fuel pump was put in the car starts fine but when you get on the highway it wants to bog down as you give it more gas.  Do you think it could be the fuel filter?

Yes that is a possibility but I would be more concerned about the gas in the tank itself, any fuel that was left in the tank for two years will not be very combustible, I don't know if this is the case but it's a possibility, even if fresh fuel was added the old fuel will compromise the fuel that was added and lower it's combustion qualities, it may be necessary to completely drain the tank and fill it up with new fuel and adding a fuel additive that is designed to remove moisture may help. In any case change the fuel filter as well.
