Toyota Repair: 1989 Toyota P/U 4x4 22re, fuel pressure gauge, air flow meter

The problem I have is lately give it gas and it starts to sputter I thought it did it only when cold however it seems to have progressed. Where would I start first fuel filter etc... Thanks

I would start with all the basics first. How old is the distributor cap, rotor & wires? Spark plugs? Also, check the air intake tube for cracks or vacuum leaks between the air flow meter and throttle body. Does the air flow meter move freely in the bore?  Also, if you have a fuel pressure gauge I would check to see if you loose pressure when it sputters out.
