Toyota Repair: Avalon wind noise, service bulletins, wind noise

Question
Ted,
I have a 2006 Limited and have complained to the dealer about wind noise which is really bad at highway speeds.
They changed the driver door seal which did nothing. Is there anything else that can be done?

Answer
I just checked to see if toyota had issued any service bulletins for wind noise and there are none. There are no chronic wind noise issues on the Avalon. There must be something causing the wind noise, my suggestion would be to leave the car with the dealer until they can figure out what is causing it, they have already admitted that there is an excessive noise by attempting to repair it, they either have to come up with a fix or try to explain that it may be normal, which I doubt, the avalon is a very quiet car. If the dealer can't resolve this call the 800 customer service number, you can find it in the owner's manual and they will probably send someone from the regional office out to test drive with you to validate the noise and then direct the dealer as to what repair procedure may be required.
