Toyota Repair: 99 Toyota Solara vibration, toyota solara, fuel injector

Question
Hi Mike,

I replaced the ignition coil #6 as you advised.  The engine light went away for a day and performance improved.  Today the engine light came back on and we found the new ETC to be random multiple cylinder missfire and cylinder #5 missfire, cylinder #6 missfire twice.

What do you think would be causing this.
Thanks for your help

Mike,

I was able to get the ECU code from the dealer.  P0306 #6 cylinder missfire.  History code had P0300 Random cylinder missfire.  Do you think replacing spark plug might help.

Thanks

Question -
I have a 1999 Toyota Solara 72K miles that recently started to have slight to moderate vibrations as you slightly break or accelerate.  We have taken it to the dealer and they have replaced the spark plugs and put in fuel cleaners.  After $500 worth of labor now the engine light started to come on.  They assured us that it is a fuel related problem.  Any ideas?

Answer -
Need to know what engine code is stored in the ECU.
Parts stores will usually scan it for free.

Answer -
probably a bad #6 ignition coil.
There about 85-100$

Mike

Answer
sometimes youll have more than 1 bad coil.
switch the coil and plug to a know good cyl. If the code follows the parts, bad parts.
If the code stays with that cyl, you may have a fuel injector problem.
The Avalon had some problems with them, you have the same engine.
