Toyota Repair: 97 tercel axel, bbots, tercel

i read your answer about left axel on a  tercel on 5/4/06.i pulled on the shaft and it seperated ,leaving the flange in the trans i hit it and pulled but will not come out.is there a tool or should i pull and tug harder.will i have the same problem on the right side.thx

A couple of large prybars are about the only thing that will pop the axles out.  I fonly the bbots are replaced the flange part can be left in place and the boot put over it and secured but if the axles are replaced completely then that part has to come out of the transmission, try rotating to different positions and keep prying on it eventually it will dislodge.
